A Happy Moment: 96 y.o. Betty Left Everyone In Tears When Being Honored at Emmy Awards

Long-lasting popularity is a rare phenomenon, however, Betty White, who has been in the entertainment industry for more than 70 years, is a great example of it. Several generations know and admire this talented actress. On Monday night, Betty White was honored with a lifetime achievement award during the Emmy Awards. Her speech caused record ovation and left the audience in tears.

Emmy Awards 2018 took place in Los Angeles, California in the Microsoft Theater hall and was broadcasted by NBC.

“The Greatest Of All Time”

 

Alec Baldwin and Kate McKinnon handed White the award, describing her as “the greatest of all time”. White was very sincere and emotional during her speech and the audience gave her a standing ovation. She mentioned everyone who still supports and appreciates her after so many years on stage. Being an exceptional actress, White played different roles and participated in a huge number of cinematographic projects. Without any doubts, Betty White is a legend and inspiration for several generations.

Betty White has been nominated for Emmys 24 times and has won 8 times.

This Hollywood icon started her career a decade before the Emmy Awards event was even first organized. Even though Emmy Awards event will be 70 next year, White still remembers cinematography before it appeared.

Standing Ovation

Betty White met a bright and war reaction of the audience and its loud applause when taking the stage, which cheered her up. As she realized people still love and appreciate her, everyone could notice how happy and emotional she was. Betty showed her perfect sense of humor; she told different funny facts and was joking a lot being on the stage.

It’s amazing how 96-year-old Betty made everyone laugh. Betty White seems to be still the same, happy and cheerful lady. At the same time, she was serious and sincere showing her appreciation of everyone who loved and supported her during all these long years in show business.

“Oh my goodness, goodness, goodness…This is… this is… this is very exciting,” said Betty.

“The other day about ‘First Lady of Television.’ And I took it as a big compliment,” she said. “And then I heard her talking to her daughter a little later”, Betty said, “First lady, yes, she’s that old, she was the first one, way, way back.”

Still The Same Betty

This wasn’t another role, the cinema legend was honest, her voice was trembling, and her eyes were full of tears. White also thanked Lorne Michaels for that chance to present at the Emmy Awards.

White’s close friend Steven J. Boettcher said that she adores working always and can’t imagine her life without cameras and cinematography. She definitely has no plans to retire. Boettcher dedicated his upcoming show to life and career of Betty White, the name of it will most likely be ‘Betty White: First Lady of Television’.
